What is ESIPE?

ESIPE is a public engineering school at Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée University. The courses of excellence that it offers in 6 different specialties are recognized by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (CTI).

The main committee responsible for evaluation and accreditation of higher education institutions for training professional engineers in France. The specialties are:

Created over 20 years ago, ESIPE trains competent engineers through an innovative and interactive pedagogy, a project-based approach and strong encouragement to participate in actions that open onto the world, such as the management of associations, international mobility, entrepreneurship, sustainable development...

The IMAC department, with its full time student programme, is the only public engineering school in France combining arts and sciences. The other 5 streams associate academic sessions with periods of apprenticeship in a partnership with CFA Ingénieurs 2000 , a pioneer in the field of engineering training through apprenticeship.

The pedagogy that ESIPE develops is adapted to the specificities of students or apprentices and aim to build the skills of the concerned trades. It highlights cross-departmental communication and management skills in French and English via seminars or multi-sector classes.

The ESIPE courses are open to foreign students with a scientific bachelor level in one of our specialties and specific educational courses in English can be provided (see list below).

    EISC: ELECTRONICS & COMPUTER SCIENCE - SMART DEVICES

    • Description:

      Embedded systems are essential for industrial competitiveness. Communication devices are part of our everyday environment in a vast array of applications (home automation applications, smart sensors for buildings, environmental monitoring, medical and automotive applications, surveillance and security ...). You will acquire expertise in both analog and digital electronics (from DC up to RF and microwave frequencies through the use of digital simulation Tools), in the software programming of embedded systems, in wired and wireless transmission techniques and communication networks allowing you to innovate and anticipate evolving markets.

      Future Positions: Design and Development Engineer, Validation Engineer, Systems Engineer, Project Manager, Electronics Engineer, Embedded Software Development Engineer, Design and Trials Engineer.

    GC: CIVIL ENGINEERING: CONSTRUCTION DESIGN AND INSPECTION

    • Description:

      Created at the request of Conformity Assessment companies and major industrial groups in the construction engineering sector; the Civil Engineering Department trains engineers in design, construction, management and the maintenance and technical assessment of structures.  From this wide-ranging viewpoint, as a future engineer you will be able to define and solve problems in a multidisciplinary environment. A decision-maker by necessity, you must be able to work in a team, have strong communication skills and a highly developed understanding of people’s requirements. This multi-disciplinary training, which has a strong foundation in Science and Technology, gives you the ability to adapt methods to current and future needs. This capacity for innovation means the future civil engineer is excellent at continual professional development.

      Future Positions: Conformity Assessment Accounts Manager, Technical Auditor, Methods Engineer, Design Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Building Works Engineer.

    GM: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

    • Description:

      Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Department are qualified to follow a product through its entire lifecycle: product and process design, manufacturing process implementation, production, product development, recycling.  As a fully qualified engineer, you will be able to work anywhere in the world at an advanced technical level or as a professional manager.

      Courses cover the core scientific subjects: applied mathematics and mechanics (in the mechanical engineering field), disciplines related to mechanics (mechatronics, automation, computing, etc.), engineering sciences (introduction to mechanical properties and materials engineering, introduction to machinery design, automation, instrumental measurement and sensor systems, thermodynamics and thermal exchanges, logistics); specialization concerns specific technical expertise and core competencies. In the first year, students choose either "Manufacturing and Design" or "Materials Engineering".

      Future Positions: Design Engineer, Calculation Engineer, R&D Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, Process Engineer, Materials Engineer.

    INFO: COMPUTER SCIENCE

    • Description:

      Computer Science engineers design, implement and maintain software and network applications. Ensuring high quality service in these applications requires coordinating the efforts and skills of three operators : the network architect plans, configures and deploys network solutions ; the software engineer designs, develops, tests and maintains the applications running on these networks ; the infrastructure administrator guarantees that the applications, systems and networks inter-operate coherently, reliably and securely.

      Our course will provide you with the knowledge and engineering training to be able to successfully hold each of these three positions, with the right skills to: analyse, model and structure software; network design, development and deployment; propose, explain, justify and negotiate technical solutions in these fields; master techniques of project management in software development or network deployment.

      Industries, Public institutions, Web companies, etc. all use geographical information to produce maps, prepare itineraries, monitor networks (water, electricity, etc.) or control their assets. Within the IT department, you will be in charge of implementing geographic information systems interfacing with a multi-disciplinary team of experts (environment, surveying, mapping, security, and so on).  You will be in charge of geographical data management, processing and diffusion using cutting-edge web technologies. As a Geo-Informatics expert, you will be a pioneer in a growing sector.

      Future Positions: Software Development Engineer, Software Architect, Infrastructure/Production Engineer, System/Network Engineer, Network Architect, R&D Engineer, GIS Developer, GIS Manager, Systems Analyst.

    MFPI: MAINTENANCE & RELIABILITY ENGINEER

    • Description:

      This is a Master of Engineering programme (180 European credits) and is for students seeking to obtain a European Maintenance & Reliability Engineering Diploma.  In today’s highly competitive economic context and continual technological evolution, your diverse skills will make you the cross-departmental interlocutor continually searching for new and improved solutions.  

      As a fully qualified engineer you will occupy a position of responsibility in maintenance management, resource management and tool production management.  Capable of working in both the tool production industry and the service provider sectors, you will exercise functions in the production, maintenance, services and transport sectors.

      Future Positions: Maintenance Contract Engineer, Business Engineer, Design and Maintenance Organisation Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Maintenance Procedures Engineer, Process and Maintenance Manager.

    IMAC: IMAGE, MULTIMEDIA, AUDIOVISUAL AND COMMUNICATION

    • Description:

      The main aim of this engineering course is to bring the creative spirit into the scientific and technical training in computing, multimedia and audiovisual disciplines. The course prepares students to design, develop and manage projects related to the administration and management of information and communication data. The course also enhances students’ creativity and ability to work with artists.

    Foreign students that come to study at ESIPE can choose courses in the following list; these courses will be taught in English to foreign students as well as to French ones. Courses can be chosen at Bachelor or at Master levels.

    Link SRI

    Internationalism has recently become a major component of a functioning university strategy. In fact, evaluations performed by the national research agency, HCERES, take into account this dimension and put great emphasis on a university's international strategy. In this context, the main goal of the International Relations Office (SRI-E) is to enable the students of UPEM University to spend a part of their studies abroad in a partner university. The department SRI-E is also in charge to welcome foreign students who want to spend one or two semesters at UPEM.
